Kilometers of cross-country skiing, cycling and hiking trails and ski slopes
The house for rent is situated in Korenov, a beautiful village on the border of the Iser and Giant Mountains, which is a great starting point to explore both mountain trails.
Kořenov is an extended village with scattered old chalets on the surrounding hills, and is renown for lovely biking, hiking and cross-country skiing trails.
Within a walking distance from the house, there are number of restaurants, one grocery shop and also a bus stop and train station Korenov. In a close neighbourhood are forests, meadows, trails, old cottages and the area offers numerous sport activities, including excellent ski resorts.
Skiing
The closes Korenov ski slope is 900m from the house, plus there are a few small ski lifts a bit further. Close to Korenov are many more: Příchovice/ U Čápa (4km), Harrachov (4km), Rejdice (6 km), Rokytnice nad Jizerou (10km), Paseky (10km). At selected resorts you can find also ski schools and ski rentals.
Cross-country skiing
In Korenov, there are about 60km of well-kept cross-country skiing trails which connect in one direction with Smedava and Bedrichov, and in the other directrion to the Giant Mountains. Our guess also enjoy the area around Polish village Jakuszyce.
Hiking & cycling
There are many marked walking, hiking and cycling trails around Korenov that will lead you through beautiful nature with outstanding views in the countryside.

Monkey Park Harrachov
The toboggan run in Harrachov (4km) has been open since July 2004 and is the first run in the Czech Republic which is fully heated and open therefore all year round.
Golf Harrachov
The golf course in Harrachov (4km) is one of the highest situated courses in the Czech Republic (730 above the sea level), located in the beautiful nature of the western Giant Mountains. Founded in 2001, 9 holes.
Bowling

Pěšky se dá od chalupy dojít lesem až ke kamenné novogotické rozhledně Štěpánka na vrchu Hvězda (959 m.n.m.), která je nejstarší rozhlednou v Jizerských horách. Výška rozhledny je 24 m a výhled z ní je opravdu krásný.
Tato malebná, kdysi sklářská osada, se nachází až u samých hranic s Polskem. Určitě stojí za návštěvu pro svoji malebnost s dosud neposkvrněnou čistou přírodou a rašeliništi. V zimě nabízí Jizerka přímo ráj pro běžkaře, v létě pro cyklisty.
A rarity of its kind is the special cog railway Tanvald-Harrachov. Today the cog system was replaced by an adhesive railway, but it is still worth taking a ride to have a chance to admire the romantics of the alternations of tunnels and bridges, deep incisions and high escarpments embedded in the unique setting of the Giant Mountains.
The first and official of this Czech genius and adventurer was opened in 2013 in the resort area U Capa. Walking up the steps provides breathtaking views on the surrounding hills. Lovely place to visit in both winter and summer, especially with young children.
Mumlava waterfalls are located near Harrachov, on the river Mumlava, and they are the richest waterfalls, hurling down water as wide as the river and in the depth of 10m. The waterfall is frozen frequently in winter and creates a so called "ice-fall", a beautiful work of art, created by water and frost.
The cableway to the top of the Devils's Mountain is operated all year round and will save you more than 300 meters of height on your walks on the mountain ridges. During summer months, there kids playgrounds, giant trampoline and jumping casle near the bottom terminal.
When visiting Harrachov you should not miss a tour in the local Glass factory and brewery Novosad a syn, where where you can watch the creation of handmade glass live and also visit the museum to see collections of historical glass and chandeliers.
On a rainy day you can visit the local Mine museum also in Harrachov. The tour is long about 1000 m and shows the most typical sights of the old mines. The trail is lighted and the average temperature is 7°C.
The town Liberec is from Korenov about 30km away and is very popular to visit by families with young children becuase of the water actractions in Centrum Babylon and also IQPark, IQLandie, local ZOO and a nice botanical garden.
